auDA is the Australian Domain Name Administrator, responsible for managing the .au domain name space

.au Domain Administration Ltd (auDA) is the current regulator of the Australian namespace acting as the policy authority and industry self-regulatory body. Formed in 1999 after a culmination of efforts dating back to 1995, auDA was created to manage the .au domain namespace to protect it as a national resource.

auDA is supported by the international body ICANN and more importantly the Australian Government as an appropriate body to hold administrative rights over the .au domain name space. The Government does hold reserve powers over domain names under the Telecommunications Act 1997.

Nexigen Digital, trading as VentraIP Wholesale, became a .au accredited domain registrar through auDA in September 2010. Through an extensive accreditation process in consult with auDA our system has been built from the ground up to meet the targets and requirements set by auDA to ensure their rules, regulations and other requirements are met.
